Vision Summit
The Cache Valley Vision was unveiled at the Vision Summit, held October 13th at the Tabernacle in Logan. Utah Governor Gary Herbert and Idaho State Representative Marc Gibbs keynoted the evening, with Governor Herbert reminding the crowd, “We have one chance here to get ahead of the curve.” As the region contemplates a doubling of its population—largely due to internal growth—ideas from Cache residents were used to create a long-term vision for the valley. Envision Cache Valley co-chair Tom Jensen unveiled the Cache Valley Vision and described its principles as well as associated benefits, ranging from reduced vehicular emissions and lower taxes to more housing options and opportunity for the conservation of natural resources and working farms and ranches. Cache Valley Regional Council Chair Gary Anderson along with County Council Chair Craig Petersen emphasized the importance of moving forward on implementation, in order to realize the future that Cache Valley citizens envision.
